Anybody can serve up some appetizers and wine but what sets this event apart? Community, plain and simple. When amazing local restaurants and businesses come together to bring about a diverse (and delicious) culinary tour of the world, then that’s when the something special is delivered. Charlotte Wine & Tapas Week has done just this, so that everyone has the chance to try some of the best food and wine pairings that the Queen City has to offer at affordable prices.

Local restaurants are at the heart of what makes these tastings of the world so amazing. The menus that the participating establishments have prepared for Wine & Tapas Week are extraordinary. There are so many enticing experiences available during this week long event, the restaurants include:

    • Essex Bar & Bistro – a craft cocktail bar and gastropub. Part bistro, part lounge, and part meeting place, putting as much care into the craft of cocktailing as they do their menu of international cuisine.
    • The Asbury at The Dunhill Hotel – a sophisticated spin on the local food movement and traditional Southern dishes. There is a strong tie to heirloom ingredients native to the area and specialty items grown by small, family farms throughout the local region.
    • Tavolo – a family style Italian restaurant with food that’s made with love. Enjoy their upstairs area with fine wine and martinis, or enjoy a traditional Italian dinner in the main dining room.
    • Corkscrew  – a sumptuous light fare menu offers a variety of American Tapas style features. These are the perfect compliment to their extensive, select wines by the glass and draught beer selections.
    • Malabar – authentic Spanish cuisine with offerings that will delight foodies and keep them returning for more. They feature signature sangrias and a wide selection of tapas and entrées.
    • Bernardin’s Fine Dining – renowned for its impeccable service, elegant atmosphere and sophisticated, succulent Modern American Cuisine. Specializing in seafood, lamb, steaks, game meats, poultry and pasta to be paired with an extensive wine list.
    • Poplar Street Tapas Cafe & Wine Bar – a relaxed atmosphere in refined surroundings, operating out of the historic Morrison House built circa 1885. They are a full service eatery and bar in a beautiful setting offering delicious pairings of tapas and wine.
    • JP Charlotte at the Westin Charlotte – a distinct American approach featuring Brick Fired steaks, burgers and flat breads, infusing local ingredients and seasonal produce.
    • Crave Dessert Bar – a warm space to share hellos, goodbyes, we’ve missed you, and even the occasional…I do. They not only serve amazing sweets but also savory items that are sure to satisfy.
    • Zen Fusion – a touch of urban trendy and upbeat lounge in a contemporary atmosphere. Zen offers a variety of Asian and Spanish cuisine from Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Sushi to Spanish, Latin and tapas dishes.
    • Babalu Tapas & Tacos – a fresh take on Mexican cuisine in an established Dilworth hot spot with 365-day patio with bar and lounge seating that brings a lot of energy to the sidewalks of East Boulevard.
    • Kid Cashew – a wood fire grill inspired by farmers and butchers. They offer modern Mediterranean plates & inventive cocktails in a rustic-chic space with a vast patio.
    • Fran’s Filling Station – electric American food with a fun, energetic, neighborhood vibe. With a simply elegant dining room, private dining room and a fun & casual tap room, Fran’s is a Dilworth treasure that can satisfy all your culinary needs.
    • Queen Park Social – a social club in Charlotte, NC’s South End where you can gather with friends—old, new, and not-yet-met—to eat, drink, and have a good time. They offer a flavor-filled selection of food and drinks, a variety of games, and exceptional personal service that will redefine what going out for a good time means.
    • Burton’s Bar & Grill – a perfect lunch or dinner spot for something special or enjoying fine wine with appetizers in their beautiful bar and lounge area. A seasonal outdoor patio is the ideal escape from the office, late afternoon cocktails or a relaxing dinner with friends.
    • Luca/Modern Italian Kitchen – an inviting and tranquil atmosphere that offers a daily dinner menu with dishes that are at peak freshness with a focus on showcasing the highest quality ingredients. They pride themselves on the great European tradition of hospitality- both on the plate and in the glass.
    • Comida – .a modern but simply delicious take on Mexican cuisine. They believe in choice ingredients, featuring heirloom Mexican corn from Masienda, certified organic and non-GMO, and even process and hand grind their own masa in house.
    • The Peculiar Rabbit – an American farm-to-fork gastropub. They start with traditional English fare and infusing it with southern ingredients from local suppliers. With a stunning view of Uptown Charlotte, they offer a unique dining experience.
    • Pint Central – featuring Argentinian, American, and European-influenced tapas and sandwiches, custom crafted desserts, and beer-inspired cuisine. They are family owned and operated, priding themselves on providing you with an enjoyable, fulfilling, and affordable dining & drinking experience.
    • George’s Brasserie a vibrant French brasserie blending tradition and modern cuisine located in Piedmont Town Center in Southpark Charlotte and features a main dining room, raw bar, patio seating, bar and private dining.
    • BRIO Coastal Bar & Kitchen – an exciting evolution in casual dining. Presenting a distinctive, casual twist, they bring a new, coastal look, relaxed feel and updated menu to its guests.
    • Namastay Kitchen – created to provide our community a place to gather and enjoy food that tastes amazing and is made with love. It’s a cozy place to hangout and share good food and good wine with friends and family.
    • Rooney’s Market – an evening tapas destination offering a chef driven tapas menu and a thoughtfully developed wine and beer program. They have a unique patio and during the day offers coffee, breakfast, and made to order salads and sandwiches for lunch.
    • DEAN & DELUCA Wine Room – serving North Carolina’s broadest selection of wines, with more than 70 different choices available by the glass or taste. This is the perfect place to meet with friends, relax and enjoy wonderful wines and food.
    • WP Kitchen + Bar – one of Wolfgang Puck’s newest dining concepts. Serving comfort cuisine in a casually elegant setting featuring Wolfgang’s signature dishes and a variety of seasonal specialties. Enjoy in the bar or the dog-friendly patio for one of their daily specials, a handcrafted cocktail or Carolina craft beer.
    • J. Sam’s  here true Southern hospitality can become the standard. They offer a rotating selection of fine wines and spirits, savory appetizers, distinctive entrées and delightful desserts. Enjoy a relaxing evening in a comfortable, artsy and eclectic South Park setting.
    • Heirloom farm to table dining best described as: Locally Sourced, Globally Inspired. All ingredients that are brought in to Heirloom come from NC farms or producers, and this extends beyond the food to include the cocktail list focused strictly on NC distilleries, the wine list made up completely of NC vintages, the beer list sourcing only local craft breweries from Charlotte and the surrounding area and even to the house music supplied from NC artists.
    • Global Restaurant – a Ballantyne mainstay for almost a decade and an award winning eatery has now relocated to downtown Pineville. Their menu includes items from fine dining to bar bites and your Global experience will take place in a space with beautiful details and character.
